So much fun with Karl and Ally on The Today Show Much of my advice right now focuses on helping adults get their tech habits under control. Covid has taken our tech use to the extreme, we feel like we have lost control, that we’re scrolling our life away & can’t put our tech down.
My No. 1 message is that it’s not the technology but what you do on it that’s important. If a zombie scrolling habit is something that you want to tone down then step 1 is to notice the triggers. What is happening when you mindlessly reach for your phone? Usually it’s a stress of some kind like boredom, procrastination, feeling lonely.
Step 2 is help yourself. If you know you always reach for your phone in the bus then set up something to do on there that is much more productive or feel good. I personally have articles I’ve saved on my phone to read in times like that. It turns zombie scrolling into a productive 10mins.
